Bassoon Lessons
Bassoon lessons are designed to introduce students to the techniques specific to this instrument and challenge them to work towards performance goals. Goals are set in the first couple of lessons and we will work together to create a timeline with benchmarks and rewards.
Bassoon lessons are either 30 minutes or 1 hour in length. Beginning students will need 30 minute lessons until they advance and need a longer lesson to accommodate the volume of material we cover.
Lessons are $25 per half hour lesson. Hour lessons are $50. Payment is expected by cash or check at the first lesson of the month for the entire month. If payment is not received by the second lesson of the month, future lessons will be cancelled until paid in full.
I use both the Rubank and Weissenborn methods with my students. Every student is different and will require a unique approach. I strive to match instruction with the personality and learning preferences of each student.
All bassoon students are required to provide their own instrument (purchased or rented from a school or store), cleaning swabs, method book, sheet music, metronome, tuner, reeds, and reed case. As students advance, they will learn reed adjustment and will need specific tools to aid them.
Clarinet Lessons
Clarinet lessons are 30 minutes in length and are $25 per lesson. Payment is expected by cash or check at the first lesson of the month for the entire month. If payment is not received by the second lesson of the month, future lessons will be cancelled until paid in full.
I use the Rubank beginning method for clarinet as well as band books required by the student’s band teacher. For solo choices, I strive to match instruction with the personality and learning preferences of each student. Performance goals are set in the first couple of lessons and we will work together to create a timeline with benchmarks and rewards.

I strongly recommend “Maiden Voyage” by Jamey Aebersold as a means of beginning jazz study.
